  1. Yes, the loss of a beloved tree is hard. They are our friends, relations. I guess the vulture’s guana killed it? I know turkey vultures are ominous and disgusting in ways (like projectile vomiting on attackers). But they are beautiful in flight and take care of carcasses in the woods and on the roads. It pains me to think of shooting them.


  2. I like this. It made me think. About the conflicting wants/needs/feelings/etc. of the three main characters here: human, tree, birds. And about perspectives. Also love your vivd descriptions.
