Our bibles, guns, and SUVs,
And wealth such as our hands create,
All emblematic liberties
That tyranny might confiscate.
It takes but one left-lurching rogue,
One demagogue with curdled brains
Whose vanities veer into vogue,
To drain the freedom from our veins.
Defend the bloodrights God gave man,
Or perish by the paradigm
Of cold dead cultures who outran
The notion they would outlast time.
