“Abstract Flowers” by Doris Wood
words are as flowers
in some cases weeds
that populate gardens
with readable colors
each bed set and ready
for blooming a poem
en-nourished by verses
who stood their time
sweetening summer and
autumn with lyrical
blossoms predestined
to die come the winter
and give of themselves
turned-under enriching
the slow-to-warm soil
with nutrient metaphor
coaxed by the muse gods
commanding the syntax
of sunshine and rain to a
rhythm reborn in new
landscape of language a
horticult redux of literate
feast for the eyes who
incline toward the spring
Magnificent, my friend

Words as flowers or weeds..nutrient metaphors. Love your poetic weaving, Paul. The coming of spring is a powerful force. 🙂

Woke up to a bit of snow today also. Spring is just delayed. It’s always a late bloomer in our part of Canada.

You followed me and so I began seeing your poetry. You are amazing. Thank You! I love the turning over, like ideas fertilising and composting and leaning toward spring. Yes.
