“Space Time Continuum” by Mike Savad
existence a blur
instant centuries
pass underneath
every eyeblink
the elderly clock
spins its filigreed
hands imperceptibly
circles of aeons
swift tracings
unfelt and unseen
by all but the mind
who knows destiny
able to dream of
all motion and
moment combined
and compressed
into spacetime
an elegant curve
unimpeded by
fictional forces
a unity absent of all
referential inertia
affixed on an
imminent future
a future familiar
without a beginning
remembered in
deep limbic structures
the vessels obtained
of organic eternity
The very stuff that gets this old brain in gear, Paul. Wonderful poem.

Great artistic reconstruction of scientific subjects. The greek saw poetry and philosophy as very close, this shows why;)

I have to wonder, as I read your writings–do you have conversations with people that sound like this? Or do all these thoughts and words go on, privately and politely mute, behind “fine, thank you” and “pass the garlic bread, please”?

I’m always polite – rarely mute – I guess it depends upon the conversation – but I always say what’s in my mind – the way I write is pretty much the way I speak (spoke) in professional settings (of course without the poetic flourishes) – and when teaching (insurance) – when giving (business) speeches – at home I’m certainly more casual – I’ve been known to mumble now and then – unless we’re discussing (arguing) serious topics, then I can get rather formal

And so it is we move into and out of each others lives like bullets fired from high`powered rifles leaving barely a hole to say we were there . . .

In the picture time looks like a tape measure to me. This gave me an added dimension to your excellent poem.

modern art s a lot like poetry in that it is usually open to the interpretation of the observer/reader
