on a catamaran
where the waters are green
I acquired a tan
that attracted a queen
she so loved my shade
that she gave me a crown
then I started to fade
till I lost all my brown
and the last thing she said
as I knelt at the log
was “Remove his pale head!”
and the axe cut the fog
(originally posted November 2013)
Cheeky!
But I must say, I like a tan.

Dir sir. I enjoyed your poem immensly. I am loathe to ever suggest a poet change their work. However, in a spirit of playfulness, I am curious if you would consider another version of this poem changing only one word. Consider changing the word “fog” to frog. It would work wonderfully and fit symbollically with the rest of the poem. Two versions. They both work. Peace.

Hi. Thanks Paul. Your creative symbolism flows throughout that poem. “Frog,” just another ending alluding to woman who want a Prince from kissing a frog. Lol.
