  1. Congrats on the first 1000, Paul. I had sensed that urgency you speak about, thus I’m praying the match doesn’t burn you out. God bless you BIG–love, sis Caddo

  2. congrats Paul, and your poems are always so enlightening. I feel that urge too, to write daily now, due to my own blog, even if no one reads it, I still have to write … this is probably one of the best things to ever happen to writers…a real outlet to pour our hearts into…or as you say, stoke the fire!

  3. Thanks Paul, for liking my poem,” a negro speaks”. i am glad it got likes from whites. It shows our unity to end discrimination. I took my time to check out your blog, I love your poems and your haiku, is extremely lovely, i might as well try haikus on my blog. Thank you for the like as we journey through the beautiful lawn of poetry together. and happy 1000th.

  4. I had not long been blogging when I first read this and at the time refrained from comment as on the one hand I read in awe of the poet, on the other it felt like an intrusion. So this time I will say what I should have done back them – a masterpiece.

  5. You have been prolific, creative, and covered a mass amount of topics… all timely and well versed. One of my best liked writers here in the blogosphere. Who could have imagined at our age with this medium… able to speak/share to the world; to a vast and diverse audience, and be encouraged to do so 🙂
    Well done my friend.

  6. There were so many phrases in here, that made me stop and mull and read again, and new meanings emerged – but my favourite is – ‘…my dim circle of light walked the wounds..’ – simply beautiful!

  7. Wow! What a prodigious first eleven months. It sounds like the poetry inside you erupted when you began writing Poesy plus Polemics. Your body of work is a tapestry of your life learning, scholarship, love of family, keen insights into history and the present mess, and awareness of the small things in life that give us pleasure. I am grateful to be one of your followers.
