  1. The picture reminds me of my childhood. Our neighbor had few Palmyra palm trees. Toddy gatherers used to come every evening to tie the pots around the tree top to collect toddy and come back in the morning to collect the filled pots. I never liked the fermented smell of toddy but the fruits were delicious. Don’t see those trees anymore in the city. Price of progress I suppose.

  2. I love the nostalgia and pure sweetness in this poem! I have always been enamored with this spring ritual. Sap giving way to the tap flowing into the bucket. It doesn’t get any more pure than that!
